Introduction

    The term ‘Information Technology’ was evolved in 1970s and it is used in some form or other in almost all sectors. It supports the management of computer-based information systems, using application of softwares. This field of study focuses on general computer science engineering and data communication techniques of electronic signals for real time applications. If we consider a medium or large scale industry which is used for manufacturing goods, its IT department will be responsible for planning its resources, its various manufacturing operations, storing its inventories, and managing its total supply chain. In the case of industries providing services its IT department helps retrieving and transmitting various information data using softwares.

      The department of Information Technology of our college was established in the year 2001 by Annai Santhiya Educational, Health and Charitable Trust, Trichy .The department has good infrastructural facilities and dedicated staff members to impart quality education to our students. We provide academic training of management of data in data base, software design,hardware design,networking of systems as well as management and administration of entire system. There are 12 faculty members working in the department and 160 Students studying in this branch. The Department labs are well equipped with latest systems and softwares.
