DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE AND HUMANITIES

The Department is a combination of four disciplines namely is English, Maths, Physics & Chemistry. They function as separate departments and maintain their unique identity. The sole aim of the department is to impart quality and value added education, knowledge skills, professional ethics and positive attitude which is vital for a professional Engineer. The faculty members are well – experienced and highly qualified. Their strenuous effort equipps the students with richer insight into theoretical knowledge along with application oriented knowledge to become update engineers which in turn enhances placement opportunities.

 

DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY:

The department of chemistry established in the year 1998, is well qualified and experienced faculties. The department is marching forward to achieve excellence in the field of chemistry by giving proper exposure to students in different applied fields like chem- informatics, corrosion studies, batteries and polymers.

Special care is taken not only to develop the academic skills of our students but also to elicit their hidden talents in solving problems in application of chemistry in the engineering field. We are proud to say that more than 80% results have been produced throughout the semester examinations.

The department is headed by Dr. P. Kanakaraj M.Sc.,M.Phil.,P.G.D.C.A.,Ph.D. Who is having more than 35 years of teaching experience. In addition there are four experienced devoted and dedicated faculty members having specializations in various fields like photochemistry, psytochemistry, corrosion studies.

The faculty members have been motivated to register for Ph.D Programme and are now doing research in synthetic organic chemistry charge transfer complexes, and solid electrolytes. The department is assisted by two other supporting staff.

 

DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH:

Department of English consists of five faculty members whose sole aim is to mould the students and make them aware of the nuances in mastering the four basic skills   in order to achieve effective communication ability. The students are taught to meet the expectations of the Industry to get excellent placement.

 

DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS:

The Department of mathematics has experienced and young energetic well-qualified faculty members who dedicate themselves to teach mathematics for I, II & III year Engineering students.

They strive hard to train the students by providing special coaching supported with regularly to bring out the mathematical potential of the students.

Apart from that as a part of placement perspective mathematics quiz, aptitude tests and numerical ability coaching are conducted frequently to pre-final year and final year students to enhance their employment skills

 

THE DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS:

The department has four highly qualified and dedicated faculty members with specialization in various disciplines in Physics. The faculty members of the department attend and present papers in various National and International conferences frequently to update and enhance their knowledge to serve the social and student community.
